This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, 62-HQ-83894 Section 6 (serials 246 to 301), collects FBI memoranda and correspondence from 1950 to 1952 on flying saucers. It covers green fireballs and discs seen near sensitive installations in New Mexico, Dr. Lincoln LaPaz's analysis, and the Air Force's Land-Air study known as Project Twinkle. It also holds an OSI summary, a USAF directive on reporting unconventional aircraft, a dissolving object reported by Philadelphia police, and letters from members of the public.

E. McIndoo, 820 West Walnut Street, Kokomo, Indiana, on July 30, 1952, advised that on July 27, 1952, at approximately 10:00 A. M. while fishing in the back waters of Thessalon Lake, Ontario, Canada, he noticed a formation of bombing planes, sixteen to twenty in number, in two groups flying south at a height estimated by him to be four or five miles. Dr. McIndoo stated that the planes went over the lake and suddenly dropped objects, at first thought by him to be parachutes. He continued that these objects fell straight for a short time, then suddenly spurted vapor and at a high rate of speed flew off in a southwesterly direction. Dr. McIndoo was unable to identify the nationality of the planes, but stated that they had twin trails of bluish smoke.
