This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, 62-HQ-83894 Section 6 (serials 246 to 301), collects FBI memoranda and correspondence from 1950 to 1952 on flying saucers. It covers green fireballs and discs seen near sensitive installations in New Mexico, Dr. Lincoln LaPaz's analysis, and the Air Force's Land-Air study known as Project Twinkle. It also holds an OSI summary, a USAF directive on reporting unconventional aircraft, a dissolving object reported by Philadelphia police, and letters from members of the public.

This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

DIRECTOR, FBI (62-83894) FLYING SAUCERS OSI LIAISON Reurlet August 7, 1952, in which you stated that at a weekly liaison conference held in Philadelphia Major H. B. Eldridge advised that OSI is no longer interested in receiving reports concerning flying saucers. OSI, as the official Air Force liaison agency, has agreed to accept reports regarding flying saucers and to transmit these reports to the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where all information pertaining to flying saucers is coordinated. If Major Eldridge still insists that he does not desire to receive reports regarding flying saucers, you should advise the Bureau and the matter will be discussed further with OSI Headquarters in Washington, D.
