This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section, 62-HQ-83894 Section 6 (serials 246 to 301), collects FBI memoranda and correspondence from 1950 to 1952 on flying saucers. It covers green fireballs and discs seen near sensitive installations in New Mexico, Dr. Lincoln LaPaz's analysis, and the Air Force's Land-Air study known as Project Twinkle. It also holds an OSI summary, a USAF directive on reporting unconventional aircraft, a dissolving object reported by Philadelphia police, and letters from members of the public.

This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

Dear Sir: I have been hearing so much about the objects called Flying Saucers that I begin to speculate as to whether we are the only Nation or country to witness such a display. Of course it could be that those odd objects are pest filled Radqr controlled waiting to be punctured. We have been so accused by another Nation that no doubt they have devised some diabolical plan to test on us. I am not inclined to pass those over lightly,because I believe that those gadgets can be made and controlled to the extent of great numbers in groupings. Also, I believe it is very unwise to make public the locations of sightings as many folk are prone to worry, and a state of mind like this is exactly what our enemy is seeking. Any one wise enuf to perfect such would not only know their travel distance but also their location,therefore no talk or publications could benefit us in that. I hope that someone has had the integrity and foresight to learn where if in any other country these 'things' have been seen.
