This FBI headquarters file section (62-HQ-83894, Section 6) collects 1950 to 1952 Bureau records on flying saucers. It includes an August 1950 memorandum on green fireballs and discs near sensitive New Mexico installations, noting Dr. Lincoln LaPaz's analysis and the Air Force's Project Twinkle study with Land-Air, Inc. It also contains a 25 May 1950 OSI summary of New Mexico sightings, a September 1950 Air Force directive on reporting unconventional aircraft, a Philadelphia police report of a dissolving object, and citizen letters.

The records include high-profile incident accounts, photographic evidence from sites like Oak Ridge, TN, and technical proposals regarding potential propulsion systems. Additional topics include convention programs, researcher accounts, and extensive media coverage from the period. This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.
