This is Section 5 of the FBI's flying disk file 62-HQ-83894, made up of 1949 and 1950 correspondence. Most of it covers a letter sent to Walter Winchell by Peter Camerlon Jones, who said he saw a silver top-shaped object near Los Angeles in 1947. The Los Angeles office could not find him, and the Bureau suggested the letter was a prank. The section also holds a Navy intelligence report on 6 or 7 discs seen over southern Oregon on 27 May 1949, plus several letters from citizens.

STOKES MCENHEIMER, CHIEF OF POLICE ALUCE, TEXAS ADVISES THAT ON THIS DATE A SMALL ELYPTICAL CONTRAPTION WAS FOUND IN A FIELD ABOUT ONE HUNDRED YARDS NORTHWEST OF MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ALICE, TEXAS. UPON EXAMINATION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT OBJECT WAS CONSTRUCTED BY WELDING A PORTION OF TWO AIRPLANE WINGS TOGETHER.
