This FBI file section (62-HQ-83894, Section 2) collects 1947 Bureau memoranda, teletypes and enclosures on reported flying discs. It includes a Newark interview report on a disc seen at Hackensack, New Jersey on August 3, a Detroit report on fused sand from Midland, Michigan, and War Department requests to investigate Richard F. Shaver of Lily Lake, Illinois after sightings over southern Wisconsin. It also covers Army Air Forces investigation reports and a Delaware pilot's claimed rocket-like sightings near Rehoboth Beach.

The FBI's 62-HQ-83894 case file includes investigative records, eyewitness testimonies, and public reports concerning Unidentified Flying Objects and flying discs documented between June 1947 and July 1968. The records include high-profile incident accounts, photographic evidence from sites like Oak Ridge, TN, and technical proposals regarding potential propulsion systems. Additional topics include convention programs, researcher accounts, and extensive media coverage from the period. This file is partially posted on FBI vault with more redactions and some pages missing. Included here is the complete case file with several newly declassified pages and only minor redactions.

A. G. SARBANIS, 66 Notr e Dame Avenue, HioksVl. sland, New York, a copy of which was sent to the New York Office . Yrs . SARBANIS was interviewed by Special Agent William A. Johnson on August 12, 194?, at which time she advised that this coded message had appeared in "Newsday," the local newspaper of Nassau and Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She stated that the message had appeared in the "County Irritant, 11 a feature of this paper, and had been signed "Radio Ham." ~(r. JACK ALTSCHUL, City Editor of 11Newsday," Hempstead, New York, was interviewed and advised that this article had been sent to the newspaper by letter which was signed "Radio Ham," and explained that he had no way of determining the identity of the writer . Mr. ALTSCHUL stated that it was his opinion that the code had been made up by some local 11 screwball" who had been affected by all o,Yhe newspaper publicity that had been given at that time to the story abou~ fly:i.ng discs . There is enclosed an article appearing in the July 12th issue of "Newsdayl' concerning this coded message, which might be of interest in this matter . Unless advised to the contrary, no furtaer effort is being made to establish the identity of the person who signed himself "Radio Ham ." ..
