This is a preliminary transcript of the Gemini V (GT-5) flight crew debriefing, prepared by NASA's Spacecraft Operations Branch, Flight Crew Support Division, and dated September 1, 1965. It records Cooper and Conrad's operational account from the debriefing held August 30 to September 1, 1965 at Cape Kennedy. Topics include countdown, window fogging, POGO vibration, fairing jettison debris, radio loss, reentry and recovery. Visual sightings are left for a later part of the debriefing.

thought everything was going perfect . The REP was
moving just exactly out of plane away from us and
it was moving at about the right velocity and then the
mystery came. It just kept on going.
Cooper Yeah.
Conrad It kept right on going straight out, and-
Cooper It wasn't slowing down very much.
Conrad And I got over here on the graph and I kept reading
the mileage and we were up to about 7 feet a second.
It was leaving us , and I realized, I began to think ,
well gee, this is- That ' s when I was really convinced
that the platform wasn't alined and we must have kicked
it out some screwy way. Then it started to drift:~
