This is a preliminary transcript of the Gemini V (GT-5) flight crew debriefing, prepared by NASA's Spacecraft Operations Branch, Flight Crew Support Division, and dated September 1, 1965. It records Cooper and Conrad's operational account from the debriefing held August 30 to September 1, 1965 at Cape Kennedy. Topics include countdown, window fogging, POGO vibration, fairing jettison debris, radio loss, reentry and recovery. Visual sightings are left for a later part of the debriefing.

157 Realize that if we had to reenter shortly or even if we pack it t ightly, but I think the bottom of the box I think I wasted a--1 111 say I could have put another silver bag or two worth of trash in there by stuffing the lower part i f I had known about it in the beginning. But it didn't t ake us much past day 2 to realize that we had a trash problem and we had to keep on top of it every single day if we were going to ever have it cleaned up at t he end.
