This is a preliminary transcript of Part II of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing, prepared by NASA's Spacecraft Operations Branch, Flight Crew Support Division, and dated June 18, 1965. The debriefing began aboard the recovery ship USS Wasp and ended at the Manned Spacecraft Center. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White discuss how the spacecraft systems performed, including the platform, OAMS, RCS and control modes. They also cover operational checks, visual sightings, experiments, mission planning and training, and give recommendations for future crews.

Part II of this document contains the “Visual Sightings” section of the debriefing (pages 196-224), where astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White describe their observations while aboard the spacecraft.

272 White McDivitt White guess, were we able to ever break this stuff loose. Training equipment is just what it says--· it should be used for training and it shouldn ' t be kept under lock and key away from the crews. I had that same feeling down there , Jim. I think we both kind of got on this one . It seemed like they'd want to get all the t r aining equipment all together and say, "Ha , ha, 'we've got it all together. We're all up to snuff. There's all of our training equipment. It's all in that locker over there. " That ' s not the way it ought to be. The training equipment shouldn't be in that locker at all . It should all be out to the crew. In t he hands of the crew. And I think up in the crew quarters is where the training equipment belongs and down in the simulator.
