This is a preliminary transcript of Part II of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing, prepared by NASA's Spacecraft Operations Branch, Flight Crew Support Division, and dated June 18, 1965. The debriefing began aboard the recovery ship USS Wasp and ended at the Manned Spacecraft Center. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White discuss how the spacecraft systems performed, including the platform, OAMS, RCS and control modes. They also cover operational checks, visual sightings, experiments, mission planning and training, and give recommendations for future crews.

Part II of this document contains the “Visual Sightings” section of the debriefing (pages 196-224), where astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White describe their observations while aboard the spacecraft.

cursory procedures . There was no star field or
anything to utilize , which I think would be
useful . If we had a decent star field , we could use it
out of the GI'1S . Also , on D- 6 the GMS did not provide
us anyt hing we could use . Ther e were procedures ,
right . And like you said, the Translation and
Docking was all right for D-6 , but, practically,
we had no simulator anywhere that gave us any-
thing that I could get out for D-9 .
Okay. Are we through with t he briefings? We
had a real major briefing that lasted t hree or
four days here at the Manned Spacecraft Center
about four months prior to the flight . Wasn' t
it , Ed?
Yes . Well , was it that long? It was in March
or April-- March wasn ' t it? Somewhere around
there .
I t hought it was later than that . We had our
first real major briefing three months before
the flight,on the 8th of March , and we had the
experimenters come to Hous t on and go over their
experiments in great detail to explain what they
wanted and how they wanted us to go about get -
