This is a preliminary transcript of Part II of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing, prepared by NASA's Spacecraft Operations Branch, Flight Crew Support Division, and dated June 18, 1965. The debriefing began aboard the recovery ship USS Wasp and ended at the Manned Spacecraft Center. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White discuss how the spacecraft systems performed, including the platform, OAMS, RCS and control modes. They also cover operational checks, visual sightings, experiments, mission planning and training, and give recommendations for future crews.

Part II of this document contains the “Visual Sightings” section of the debriefing (pages 196-224), where astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White describe their observations while aboard the spacecraft.

and I together ,in one day,had about 160 runs .
Yes . Pretty close to that .
Centrifuge . . I think that t he centrifuge
contributed very little to our mission. I
sort of feel that once you ' ve been on the
centrifuge and you ' ve learned what the effect
of g's are and how to counteract their effect~
that there's not a great deal more to be gained .
I didn't really feel that I got that much out
of the centrifuge t ime. How about you , Ed?
I think that your orientation in the centrifuge
is very impor tant . In other words, I think that
it does give you a feeling for what the g 1 s are
going to be like and what the g 's on the lift
off and reentry are . I don' t believe there ' s
any necessity for beating your head on a centri
fuge over and over, running it up there . I
certainly wouldn't want to go run a series
of runs just before the mission so I ' d know
how it ' s going t o feel on launch , because Ialready
know how it 's going to feel on launch. The first
time you run a few runs on a ce~trifuge, you
