This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

Information just wasn't getting up to us . That was after EVA. Right . Communications just weren ' t getting 11p to us . I figured we didn't have any communications with the ground during EVA. No, we didn ' t . Our VOX blocked t hem out . I know it . But the Communications Systems Check that was supposed to be performed at 15 minutes-- we sort of already acc omplished the thing, because we 'd used UHF No. 1 and No . 2. I made the check with them. Did you make the check? -- that ' s right you made the check but we didn ' t use the HF because we weren't going to put the antenna out until after EVA. We didn ' t do anything with the urine bags except keep them right where they were . At this time we didn't pressure check both suits , because we did this later . We didn ' t aline the platform , as I mentioned. C:0NFt0ENlt~ L
