This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

Astronaut Ed White recounts seeing “sparkles” during the flight.
47 McDivitt White CONFtf>E~ftAi. was two minutes past one hour 30 minutes, and I guess they weren't sure exactly what we wanted. So they gave it to us in GMT and elapsed time also . But that is the information we received, as far as our 2-1 area was concerned. I think Ed had better cover unstowage. I didn't unstow anything. I was just trying to stick with the booster at that time. The first thing I got into was my right-hand stowage compartment and I unstowed the blood pressure bulb. Then I started into the center section to get at the camera . The first thing I wanted to get out was the Hasselblad and the 16 mm. I was dying to get a picture of that booster. So , I unstowed the Hasselblad and got a good back on it and the 16 mm camera. I didn't unstow the urine nozzle as the flight plan had called. We both had decided we were going to use our launch day urine bags as long as we could, and we had hoped to use them right through the ENA. As it turned out, we did. That was about all I unstowed at this time. I unstowed the cameras, the blood pressure bulb and also got out the film cartridges and the tape cartridges. I put them on the side CONFIDENTIAb
