This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

Did you have a full error? Yes, my pitch err or went al l the way down , and then it just steered slowly right back up . Re member you-- You did call and tell me you had a saturated- Di d you call saturated , or did you say we had a bi g one? I called it saturated, I believe . That ' s right . I called a saturated error and then I called you that it was steering back to zer o . Yes . I remember that you did call that . That ' s the way they showed this on the plot , t ha t i t would saturate there , am very quickly it s eemed to gradually steer right back up . The steering rates that went in were on the order of less than half a degree/second . They were very low. Very , very low because I was on high scale .
