This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

322 McDivitt White McDivitt White McDivitt White I had a couple of little holes right down at the bottom where I could see swimmers down there , and I could s e e the nose , but I couldn ' t see up at all . We were talking about the main chute there . I saw the drogue chute floating down right next to it- drogue chute and the pilot chute with the R & R can floating down right next to it . They were coming down through about- -1et 1s see . We were on our backs then , weren't we? We still hadn't gone to two- point? I don't remember . I don ' t remember either . I was so busy taking blood pressures . W~ had the drogue chute and the pilot chute floating down with us for a long time just off to one side going do'Wl'l about the same rate . I thought that they were supposed to go down slower , but I guess it doesn ' t . I guess what probably happened was we saw them at single- point , but when we went to two-point , we lost sight of them . Okay . We didn't have any leaks that I could tell . We had electrical power. I didn ' t check to see what the secondary o2 pressure was . Did you , F,d? No . I didn ' t .
