This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

and then turned off the power . I went from
ACME to OFF on both rings . It didn ' t get
any worse. I think what I might have done is

Well, I know it damped out there in the end
considerably. I think it was when the Rate
Command, or whatever it was, was firing,
Well , Reentry Rate command was going all the
time. We were going at a heck of a lot
faster rate than 4 degrees/second.
Well, we cut down our oscillations considerably
after you did something over there . I thought
you had put it in Rate Command .
I did put it in Rate Command , but I didn't
leave the propellant on. This was why I
wanted to get r id of all the propellant onboard
t he spacecraft if I could. But I didn't want
