Preliminary Gemini 4 Crew Debriefing, Part I, 1965

This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

and they were operating properly .
At TR-22 I was alining the platform. I
started alining the platform over the States ,
and I put it in Orbit Rate for a while . Final ly
we got over to the dark side and there wasn ' t
anything else to do , so I alined it some more .
I alined that platform for an hour and a
half . We had the best alined platform at
retrofire in the world . We were in pretty good
shape by the t ime we got to the T - 22 checklist,

which is really nothing at all. It 's just
another platform alinement . We checked our
ground updates, and again Carnarvon told us
that we had a good load in the TRS .
At TR-13 minutes we started the computer. We
started our TR- 13 minute checklist at about
TR-1 4 to make sure we didn ' t run into any
problems . We got into Orbit Rate, and I got
all the things out just like the T - 12 checklist
