This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

234 C01'4Flf>ENTIAl White McDivitt couldn ' t be run simultaneously! It looked like somebody with a little foresight on the ground could have seen this . That was really the only bad screwup , I think, in our flight planning. It was right there . I think so , too . So we terminated MSC- 10, al though we had enough pictures , I'm sure , to have completed the experiment . It would have been nice to use up all the film . There ' s no sense in carrying it and not using it . At 11 : 54 we did the Horizon Scanner Sunset Check--the plat form up and alined . At 12 : 15 we did the Horizon Scanner Moonset Check. At 12: 22 we did the Apollo Yaw Orientation. At 12 : 58 we did the Horizon Scanner Thruster Check. At 12 : 59 we did the Horizon Scanner Track Check. At 13 : 14 we did the Attitude Thruster Check. At 13 : 20 we were supposed to power down and at 13 : 20 were supposed to turn off the MSC No . 1 Experiment . What happened as we went through here--we got a little behind because it took a little longer to do some of these things , especially this Horizon Scanner Track Check.
