This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

229 McDivitt White McDivitt White McDivitt White COt~F·IOENllAl I had an HF Check at Ascension at 05 :09 , which didn't work out-- How could I have a successful BM if I was asleep? You had already had it . I reported it at that time . I wasn ' t able to read Ascension on this HF Check. I got the okay for an Apollo D-9 Run No . 2 for 06 01 44 . I called down to get clarification on it and they said I could use stars of opportunity. This is what I did . I ran the D-9 with the stars of opportunity. Why we did this wil l be brought out in the D- 9 de briefing. This was a no-fuel D-9? No. This was with fuel . But, remember , the stars were placed so it was hard to get much. Yes. We scrubbed the Apollo Landmark Investigation No . l . We didn't do that . We gave a Medical Data Pass . Ran the D-9 Experiment , I believe, and got fairly good information back on that . As a matter of f act, I did do the Apollo Landmark Run No . 6 and that information is in the flight log. I got Jim up, it says, at 08:31 . This doesn't sound right to me .
