This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

218 White McDivitt White McDivitt White McDivitt White when we'll discuss the experiments, we'll comment on tha t . It looks like I was asleep here for awhile because I don't have any notes . Okay. I have a set here. I was given the first time to take a look at some of the D-6 targets . I had No. 1, No . 12, and No. 13, and I had all the times for them. I think No . 1 is Tripoli . We ' ll go over these in a little more detail when we go to the experiments . Tripoli was covered by clouds . Alexandria was pretty good , and I was able to follow it pretty well. Did you take any pictures of it? Yes . I took s ome pictures. Actually, I think we should go back and look at these. I got several passes. This was the D-6 Experiment. No. 12 was Tripoli and it was covered with clouds . No . 13 was Alexandria , and I took manual pictures with the 20 mm Contarex. I didn't actually see-- The 50 mm Contarex? No, the 200 mm Contarex.
