This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

We di d not do an Orbit Nav Check, Run 3, b,:.cause we dldn ' t want to use any fuel . We scrubbed Experiment D-8 and w2 ware going to turn i t on at 23 : 00 or do it at 2300 . But, I guess Ed ·v1as s till asleep , so we didn ' t do it then . At this t .i.me we were both in pretty bad shape as far as rest went , s•:> I felt it much better to get some sleep th~n to fool with the experiments . Then go i ng through- Okay , this is the period of time whea you were asleep . Yes , because I don ' t have any notes there . Go ahead. Right . I had a very busy time shortly after I got up . I had a requirement to , ~t 00: 15 , Oh , yes . They called the update to me and I passed it on to you and then I went to sleep . That ' s right . I turned on the MSC 2 and 3, and then I went D-8 at 02 :15 . 00 :15 Greenwich time , you were supposed to take some pictures of cellular clouds . No fuel all otted .
