This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

Yes . The reason that I broughtthe thing back up again is I wanted to be sure it ' s brought out that the planets are so clear and so bright, even far more brighter than they are looking at them from the ground . Looking at them up there, it really is striking the first time you see them . If we took a l ot of pictures of anything, i t was a pictl:re of that planet . Sunrise and sunset . The sunsets all had the planet in it . That ' s right . That planet has always been there . Very pretty . It certainly was . Okay, I got a call after Ed went t o sleep that we were going to pass by myr.hnl"r. :.:. u.:-o which would be north of track , at 7: 56. I wasn't sleeping. I heard it . Did you? Okay .
