This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

This camera s):-iould h,•,ve been attached by velcro to Ill:) , s o that I could use it independently of the gun . It W'.)Uld have been easier for m,3 to us9 and I would have had a nnlch higher probability of getting satisfactory pictures with it . It was a case of lumping too mu~h together--vJtting tha g-~n and the camera together . White The attachinAnt of the VCM to the h~rness was a good type of at tachment . It was easy to dis co~nec' Lhe two velcro attachments anti move the che~t pack in and out . I hai to do this both when I opened the sp:1.cecraft hatch, so it would clear the hatch handle , a,d I had to ~)ve it out of the way when I c l osed the spacecraft and p~mp~d the hatch handle . White Now we can get into some concl usions . While I was out , I decided to put a piece of velcro strip on the side of the adapter to see if later on we might use this as a method for attaching i tern:, on tha outside of the spacecraft , if the velcro was still there and if it was in good shape . I think the velcro could be madeinto c.. very useful item for co~~Fi0£N-l1Al-
