This is a preliminary transcript of Part I of the Gemini 4 (GT-4) flight crew debriefing. The Spacecraft Operations Branch of NASA's Flight Crew Support Division prepared it on June 16, 1965, from recordings of the debriefing held aboard the USS Wasp on June 9, 1965. In it, astronauts McDivitt and White describe the mission from an operational viewpoint, covering countdown, powered flight, insertion, orbital operations, reentry, landing and recovery. According to the preface, visual sightings were left for a later part.

125 McDivitt White McDivitt White McDivitt I was right up close to the spacecraft and that's when I came over. Do you remember me coming over and actually looking about a foot from your window, Jim? Yes . Looking right at you. Yes, I think that was the time the movie camera wasn't going and I was fooling around with it , trying to make sure that it was running . Oh, that woul d have been a very interesting picture. I'm not sure it was going, Ed , ~ecause, as you know, we had so much trouble making the left hand one run . We had that t rouble throughout the remainder of the flight. You pushed a switch over and it seemed to run so:netimes, but sometimes it wouldn't. I kept worrying about whether or not it was running so, I would grab a hold of it to see if I could feel it clicking over. I switched the ON-OFF switch on a couple of times to make sure I could tell the change in the feel of it. I'm afraid this time is one of the times that I didn't have the camera going, because I was trying to make sure that it was !eeNFl0ENTIAb--
