This 1954 to 1955 file of U.S. Air Force Directorate of Intelligence correspondence gathers letters and memos about the Unidentified Flying Object Program. In one memo, the Air Force says an object that fell at Sylacauga, Alabama was identified as a meteorite at the Air Technical Intelligence Center. Donald Keyhoe questions the Office of Naval Research about the Navy's analysis of the Tremonton film, and the Navy says data are insufficient and it sees no danger. Most of the replies to the public enclose the Air Force UFO summary.

This file contains correspondence relating to Project Blue Book, a 1952-1969 U.S. Air Force program to investigate the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects (UFO). The correspondence includes letters and memoranda sent between various departments and agencies of the U.S. Government, the Legislative Branch, and private citizens concerning UFO sightings and the research and findings of Project Blue Book.

Dear Sir: I am a regular Airman going into Air Force Intelligence. I must admit that the main reason or one of the main reasons I came into the Air Force was so I could go behind the scenes and see the Utah Films. I'm sure, sir, you have heard of the Utah films taken by Warrant Officer Delbert C. Newhouse at 11:10 A.M. on July 2, 1952 showing the Air Force that they had the proof that Flying Saucers, or Unidentified Flying Objects (VFO) were real. This proof, the Air Force had been waiting for since June 24, 1947 when Kenneth Arnold set off the "Flying Saucer" uproar. Sir, I'm a citizen of the United States, the greatest country in the world, and I love my country and the people in it and I believe like most Americans in knowing the facts. I would like to see the film air, because, going into Air Force Intelligence, I am most interested in the Flying Objects which have been observing our country for the past 8 years.
