This 1954 to 1955 file of U.S. Air Force Directorate of Intelligence correspondence gathers letters and memos about the Unidentified Flying Object Program. In one memo, the Air Force says an object that fell at Sylacauga, Alabama was identified as a meteorite at the Air Technical Intelligence Center. Donald Keyhoe questions the Office of Naval Research about the Navy's analysis of the Tremonton film, and the Navy says data are insufficient and it sees no danger. Most of the replies to the public enclose the Air Force UFO summary.

This file contains correspondence relating to Project Blue Book, a 1952-1969 U.S. Air Force program to investigate the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects (UFO). The correspondence includes letters and memoranda sent between various departments and agencies of the U.S. Government, the Legislative Branch, and private citizens concerning UFO sightings and the research and findings of Project Blue Book.

Ossining, New York Dear Mrs. Masarek; Thank you for your letter of August 21st describ ing your sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object. It has been forwarded to the appropriate office for further analysis The Air Force does have a major active program for investigating and evaluating these sightings. For this reason, initiative reports such as yours are of considerable value and greatly appreciated. For your information, I am enclosing a summary of events concerning the UFO Program. I hope you find it of interest.
