This U.S. Air Force compilation, released by the U.S. Department of War, holds numbered checklists and survey sheets for flying object incidents 1 through 100. It covers sightings by officers, test pilots and civilians at Muroc Army Air Field on 7 and 8 July 1947, and sightings by Portland, Oregon police on 4 July 1947. It also includes fireballs seen over California, Nevada and Oregon on 30 December 1947, a Houston fireball, and Finnish reports from January 1948.

flying discs traveling in a northwest direction at an estimated altitude of 7.000 or 8.000 ft at about 300 to 400 MPH. Witness states he was in the Billeting Office when lt Lt McHenry called him and 2 other witnesses outside. He was then asked what he saw. Sgt Nauman states he saw 2 objects and that he was positive that they could not have been aircraft, weather balloons or birds. Due to the altitude at which they flew they gave off a definite reflection from the rays of the sun. A few minutes later after the original two discs had disappeared he saw another object at the same altitude doing certain maneuvers such as flying in a tight circle. Its very tight maneuver precluded its being any known type of aircraft. Witness states: "I have 20-30 vision"... "I have been flying in and have been around all types of aircraft since 1943 and never in my life have I seen anything such as this." Evaluation: Confirmed by other sources
