This U.S. Air Force compilation, released by the U.S. Department of War, holds numbered checklists and survey sheets for flying object incidents 1 through 100. It covers sightings by officers, test pilots and civilians at Muroc Army Air Field on 7 and 8 July 1947, and sightings by Portland, Oregon police on 4 July 1947. It also includes fireballs seen over California, Nevada and Oregon on 30 December 1947, a Houston fireball, and Finnish reports from January 1948.

According to a WHO News Broadcast at 2300-2315, 9 Jan 45, relayed from Danville, Kentucky, a Mr. & Mrs. Markham were driving in their car in or about Danville, Kentucky, when they saw a pencil-like object flying very high which left a long trail of smoke or exhaust. The trail shortly afterwards turned into a beautiful fireworks display of sparks, etc. The object appeared to be traveling a straight course.
