This 1949 file from the Army General Staff's Plans and Operations (P&O) Division contains routing forms and memoranda for record about an Intelligence Division (ID) evaluation study of flying saucers. P&O asked ID for the study on 24 February 1949, after a number of radio reports about flying saucers, and ID sent its evaluation on 7 March 1949. The study concluded that none of the cases investigated involved any foreign nation. After Walter Winchell's broadcast of 3 April 1949, P&O also asked ID to check whether that broadcast was accurate.
