This Black Vault release compiles 1964 newspaper and wire service clippings plus a Project Blue Book summary on the Socorro, New Mexico sighting by policeman Lonnie Zamora on April 24, 1964, when an egg-shaped object left four depressions and burned brush. It covers J. Allen Hynek's site visit, APRO and NICAP comment, and related New Mexico reports at La Madera, Edgewood and Albuquerque. The Air Force summary reports that soil and brush analysis found no radiation or propellant, and the case remained open.

## d. Continuing Investigative Efforts at Present Include; (1) The FTD Liaison Officer, Major Mitchell at White Sands, has been requested to determine if a vehicle from a classified project at White Sands could have contributed to the sighting. (2) A letter has been sent to the FAA requesting any information relative to identification of a firm using the marking observed by Lonnie Zamora. (3) NASA has been queried regarding the status of the lunar Module Programs. As of this date no reply has been received. (4) Letters concerning status of the Lunar Module programs have been written to 15 industrial organizations. (5) Contact with research and development personnel associated with VTOL and Lunar Module Programs is being maintained.
