This Black Vault release compiles 1964 newspaper and wire service clippings plus a Project Blue Book summary on the Socorro, New Mexico sighting by policeman Lonnie Zamora on April 24, 1964, when an egg-shaped object left four depressions and burned brush. It covers J. Allen Hynek's site visit, APRO and NICAP comment, and related New Mexico reports at La Madera, Edgewood and Albuquerque. The Air Force summary reports that soil and brush analysis found no radiation or propellant, and the case remained open.

Request for Lunar Module Information

1. Our office is interested in lunar module type spacecraft having landing gear experience. Normally these projects are supervised by NASA.

2. It is our understanding that your corporation has some capability on the spacecraft landing but no specific system is being developed. We would appreciate any information which you may have at your disposal. This information may be sent to Captain Hector Quintanilla, FTD (TDEW/UFO, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433.

M/R: Capt Quintanilla spoke with V.C Serianni, representative of the Menasco Manufacturing Company, on 28 May 64. Menasco has the capability of producing a Lunar Landing Module, however, they have not built any models for any of the contractors. Menasco has done much research in this area and have a laboratory model with girder-like pods for a Landing mechanism.
