This Black Vault release compiles 1964 newspaper and wire service clippings plus a Project Blue Book summary on the Socorro, New Mexico sighting by policeman Lonnie Zamora on April 24, 1964, when an egg-shaped object left four depressions and burned brush. It covers J. Allen Hynek's site visit, APRO and NICAP comment, and related New Mexico reports at La Madera, Edgewood and Albuquerque. The Air Force summary reports that soil and brush analysis found no radiation or propellant, and the case remained open.

## Page 6 there at least once a year (on my way to Las Cruces) just to see if anything has turned up. Sometimes confessions come years afterwards. In the meantime, I am looking forward to seeing both of you in Cambridge this summer. As you may know, we have rented a house at 57 Avon Hill Street. I hope very much that we can spend some pleasant evenings, the three of us, arguing cases. All is well here. The 24-inch in New Mexico gets delivered in about a month, and construction has started on the 40-inch for the observatory here. Sorry to have been so late in answering your letter, but here it is anyway. Sincerely yours, J. Allen Hynek Director
