This Project Blue Book file, released through The Black Vault, collects US Air Force records from 1950 to 1959 on the movie film Nicholas Mariana shot at Great Falls, Montana on 15 August 1950. It includes the OSI interview report, letters about borrowing and copying the film, and a 1956 Douglas Aircraft analysis. Blue Book's own findings were not consistent: one letter lists the cause as unknown, while later memos conclude the objects were probably two F-94 jets.

SO THERE ARE no flying saucers? Well, I saw them on screen when the Clarence Greene-Russel Rouse film, "Unidentified Flying Objects," was previewed here. The somewhat cagey title, which doesn't specifically identify the objects our air force states were "not balloons, not aircraft, not birds, and not faked," scarcely fulfill the breathles content of the film. Here on screen, for the time, is shown Here on screen, for the first time, is shown terrific color footage of "saucers" in flight-footage which up to this time has been held top secret. Skeptics will think twice before dismissing the saucer as a fantasy, but how Greene and Rouse ever pried loose the official air force footage is a story in itself.
