This Project Blue Book file, released through NICAP, covers the August 1956 radar and visual UFO sightings at RAF Bentwaters and Lakenheath, England. It contains radar operator statements, pilot intercept accounts, weather data and USAF teletype messages. It also includes ATIC analyses suggesting weather returns or Perseid meteors, and an October 1956 memorandum by Dr. J. Allen Hynek. Hynek judged the meteor explanation unlikely, called for better data and relayed Dr. Whipple's proposal for camera sky patrols.

The following information was derived after discussion with captain Gregory on 14 August 1956 concerning the possibility of anterlite showers over england being mistaken for probably unidentified flying objects a. The Porsoids are prominent and apparently could be quite spectacular over England. b. The Forseids are at their visual peak between the 11th and 20th of August. e. These meteors, in their individual flights, could appear to cross over at large angles to other meteors. d. It is possible that individual meteor trails confined (given) may trace on radar scopes. although only limited information is given, these meteors could be an explanation to some of the algorithms observed over Lakenheath and Jervetere.
