This 217-page Project Blue Book desk file on the 24 April 1964 Socorro, New Mexico sighting by policeman Lonnie Zamora comes from the Rob Mercer collection. It contains the Blue Book record card, which carries the case as unidentified pending more data, along with Foreign Technology Division messages and resumes and a narrative of the sighting. It also holds inquiries about lunar modules, helicopters and VTOL craft, soil and radiation findings, and a letter by J. Allen Hynek rejecting Donald Menzel's hoax hypothesis.

UFO data was receiYad by Capt Cuny from a Lt Col King, Co·mter Intelligence
Division, Albuquerque, New l>'lexico, who in turn read about it in the
lod~ newsp~er and also was provided data by the FBI.
The alleged UFO sighting took place at a bout 1800 MST on 2L April.
The object allegedly was witnessed in a rural area on tm Stallion
Range Center, Cocorro, New Mexico.
The alleged witness was a reputabls local poli.ce officer by the name
of Lonnie Damora. Damora was chasing a speeding motorist when he
saw the bbje ct fro:n the road at a distance of about 200 feet.
He claims to have seen two rren in white overalls get into the silver
colored foot-ball shaped object about 15 feet long. The Yehicle
allegedly took off with a roar, rose to an altitude of a:> fe'3t and
disappeared rapidly to t~e west.
Upon being informed of this, the Army (a Captain R T Holder of 'White
Sands) roped off the area. ~lso the FBI at Albuburque proceeded to
too area, anri allegedly confirmed that "sonathing" had been there.
