to direct Sgt Chavez to the location 'While he vas driving toward
the object. Sgt Chavez took the "'J!''ng reed, and w.s, in fact
beading in the opposite d1rect1m for part of the time and wuld
not have been in a position to see the object. H.e arrived at the
point where Sgt Za&nora was parked about three minutes after the
object had disappeared. Sgt Zamora vas pale and upaet at Vhat he
had 'Witnessed. Sgt Chavez \r'BS skeptical of the situation and pro-
eeeded to where Zamora had observed the object. Here he found the
marks and burns. Smoke appeared to be coming from a bush which was
burned but no flame or coals were visible. Sgt Chavez broke a
limb from the bush and it vas cold to the touch. The cark.a vere
fresh and no other marks were in the area. Diagonals of the four
impressions interesect in a perpendicular and the major distance
seems to be approximately 13 f't. Sgt Chavez secured the area and
eontacted local military author! ties. This resulted in the in-
vestigation of the sighting.Rob Mercer
