Craft Zoomed Away
Zamora said the craft headed
due west at an altitude of about
20 feet for nearly a mile, then
increased speed rapidly and
vanished straight up.
Spokesmen for. military instal-
lations in the area said they
· could account for no unusual
manifestation from any testing
going on at their bases, but
said the reports were being in-
vestigated.
A party from Stallion Site on
white Sands Missile Range
vi&ited the landing site Satur-
day morning, took soil samples,
and submitted a report to high-
er autlrorities.
The Holloman uFO . officer
said he bad made a report on
the sighting to higher echelons,
but neither White Sands oor
Holloman would comment other
than to state that obvious phys-
ical evidence at the site indi-
ca,ted some unusua[ oCcurrence.
