This 217-page Project Blue Book desk file on the 24 April 1964 Socorro, New Mexico sighting by policeman Lonnie Zamora comes from the Rob Mercer collection. It contains the Blue Book record card, which carries the case as unidentified pending more data, along with Foreign Technology Division messages and resumes and a narrative of the sighting. It also holds inquiries about lunar modules, helicopters and VTOL craft, soil and radiation findings, and a letter by J. Allen Hynek rejecting Donald Menzel's hoax hypothesis.

I. PURPOSE
Determination of the composition of the soil samples for the purpose of
comparison.
II. FACTUAL DATA
1. The samples were submitted for analysis and assigned Analytical Branch
numbers 4-891 - 4-898.
2. · Spectrographic analysis indicated the gross composition to be the same
for all samples. . The following elements were found in the indicated
concentration range:
Principal element - Silicon
Major elements - Mg, Al, Fe, Na, K and Ca
Minor elements - !'{anganese . and Titanium
III. CONCLUSION
There is apparently no significant differences in elemental composition
between the different samples.
