This 81-page Project Blue Book case file covers the Levelland, Texas sightings of the night of 2 to 3 November 1957. It holds the record card, Air Force teletype reports from the 1006th AISS and radar units, witness questionnaires, press clippings about the White Sands sightings, and analyst memos. Several witnesses said a bluish-white oval object stopped their car engines. The Air Force concluded the cause was ball lightning in stormy weather, with wet or faulty ignition systems explaining the engine failures.

AIR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT REPORT NO. Part One PAGE 5 OF 19 PAGES Inclosure 2 to Part One: STATEMENT I was driving home from Lubbock on state highway 116 at approximately 12:00 p.m. when the amp meter on my car jumped to complete discharge, then it returned to normal and my motor started cutting out like it was out of gas. After it had quit running my lights went out. I got out of my car and tried in vain to find the trouble. When I found nothing I closed the hood and looked for a passing motorist to obtain help. It was at this time that I saw this object, I got back into my car and tried to start it, but to no avail. After that I did nothing but stare at this object until it disappeared about 5 minutes later. I then resumed trying to start my car and succeeded with no more trouble than under normal circumstances. I then proceeded home very slowly and told no one of this sighting until my parents returned home from a weekend trip to Hobbs, New Mexico for fear of public redicule. They did convince me that I should report this and did so to the sheriff around 1:30 p.m. Sunday November 3rd. A CERTIFIED TRUE COPY: William Pillarsen WILLIAM P. BRUNSON Lt.
