The Roswell Report: Fact versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert was published in 1995 by Headquarters United States Air Force. It was written in response to Representative Steven H. Schiff's request and a General Accounting Office audit, and it contains Col. Richard L. Weaver's report and 1st Lt. James McAndrew's synopsis, along with attachments, appendices and photographs. The report says researchers found no evidence of an extraterrestrial craft or crew. It concludes that the 1947 debris came from a Project MOGUL balloon train.

SUBJECT: Report of Findings on Balloon Research
The following report is submitted in support of findings developed as a result of research
efforts conducted at your request in support of the General Accounting Office (GAO) audit that
focused on obtaining infonnation relative to the so-called "Roswell Incident."
Previously you were separately provided a li~ of the locations and records searched in
regard to that endeavor. This is in addition to other materials and briefings previously provided.
The focus of this paper is to concentrate on those findings developed regarding balloon operations
that were taking place in New Mexico during the time frame in question.
The foUowing was compiled from records reviews and in some case, interviews with
participants. Where appropriate, copies of the source documents used are provided as
attachments. In the case of interviews or other references that are attached to the main report,
