This Office of the Secretary of Defense FOIA release (case 22-F-0249), dated May 16, 2023, collects public affairs material about the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG). It contains Deputy Secretary Kathleen Hicks' November 23, 2021 memo creating the AOIMSG and an executive council to succeed the Navy's UAP Task Force. It also holds press releases, briefing cards with talking points and answers, a spokesperson statement and news clips.

We're also working on additional implementing guidance on the AOIMSG, as well as the Airborne Object Identification and Management Executive Council (AOIMEXEC), for Deputy Secretary Hicks' approval, per her memo. Once that guidance is approved and published, the transition from UAPTF is AOIMSG is complete, and the AOIMEXEC has had its first meeting, we'll be happy to answer your questions about the AOIMEXEC and AO IMSG more fully."
