* Request for Medical Assistance Teams to Michigan. Robin Erb, Bridge Michigan, and Dustin Walsh, Crain's, asked for
confirmation that DoD Governor Whitmer has requested medical assistance teams for hospitals in Michigan. Explained
the process by which the state would request assistance via FEMA, and informed them that such a request hasn't
reached DoD yet.
* DoD Civilian Vaccination Rate. Patricia Kime, Military.com, and Caitlin Doornbos, Stars & Stripes, requested the
percentage of DoD civilians that are vaccinated. Informed reporters of the data on the Defense.gov/coronavirus and
provided the approved statement: "The DoD federal employee compliance and vaccination data includes all civilian and
active duty employees who have received vaccinations through DOD providers or self-reported that they had been
vaccinated. As we continue to process the incoming data, DoD will provide further updates on DOD civilian vaccination
rates. Being fully vaccinated is one of the surest ways to bolster our readiness and safely meet the readiness
requirements that our national security depends on. We have and will continue to implement the vaccination
requirement without disruptions to the critical work of the Department."

* Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Strategic Studies. Mr. Randy "Church" Kee, Senior Advisor for Arctic Secu rity Affairs,
conducted an on-t he-record int erview with Melody Schreiber, Arctic Today, on the progress of standing up t he Ted
Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, the Department of Defense's sixth and newest regional center. The interview
focused on the mission of the center, how it supports the DoD and U.S. government, and the efforts to "build while
doing" to quickly address national security needs. Publication will be the week of Nov. 29.
