* AOIMSG Establishment. Multiple reporters (including Spencer Ackerman, Forever Wars/The Daily Beast; Tom Rogan,
Washington Examiner; Courtney Kube, NBC; Jeff Schogol, Task & Purpose; Greg Hadley, Air Force Magazine; Jazz Shaw,
Salem Media Group/Town hall Magazine; Terace Garnier, Newsy; Ramin Skibba, Wired) asked about last night's press
release and DSD memo on the establishment of the Airborne Object Identification & Management Synchronization
Group (AOIMSG), the new activity replacing the UAPTF. Most focused on the 'new' term SUA, AOIMSG vs. the
organization in the amendment proposed by Rep. Gillibrand, and interagency coordination. Provided clarification on
SUA; noted that we weren't going to comment on or speculate about proposed legislation; noted that not only would
the AOIMSG be collaborating across DoD agencies and with interagency partners (just as the UAPTF did), but ODNI
would be invited to participate in the AOIMEXEC that's providing oversight and direction to the AOIMSG; and noted to
several that, as the DSD memo indicated, implementing guidance on membership, roles, responsibilities, etc., would be
forthcoming. Garnier and Skibba asked to interview someone via Zoom today (Garnier) or next week (Skibba); declined
interviews for now.

* Hybrid Vehicle Kit. The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is adapting hybrid conversion kits for military tactical vehicles to
reduce fuel consumption. In August, DIU and the Army's Project Manager Transportation Systems issued awards to two
companies to integrate their respective commercial solutions into prototype idle-reduction Family of Medium Tactical
Vehicles, the Army's standard two-and-a-half to 10-ton trucks. Read the DoD News article
