This Office of the Secretary of Defense FOIA release (22-F-0956) collects internal Pentagon emails from October 2017 to May 2018 about former staffer Luis Elizondo. Garry Reid wrote that Elizondo's claim to have led classified UFO programs was "pure fiction as best I can tell" and reported concerns that he might disclose classified information. Other emails cover a WIRED journalist's questions about DOPSR video clearance and efforts to find the Navy classification authority for a video.
On #2 - let's get our options through the OSI route. Did he go through the formal debrief and close out? Agree on capturing this on security file. Hard to tell here on where this is going as "previously classified" and unauthorized disclosure (and obligation to protect classified info even once read out) are two very different things. They have a few former govt personnel and some fringe scientists that are offering insights into among other things extraterrestrial beings and UFOS. Mr Elizonzo is representing himself as a former DoD official that led classified programs on UFO matters. This is pure fiction as best I can tell. He has also said publicly (on You Tube) that he will be providing previously classified information. I am working with our security office to report this very unusual behavior. Carrie has tasked her AFOSI LNO to probe it as well. At minimum we need to capture this on his security file. Looking to OSI for other options. I also discussed with Todd and Pete Verga to see if we should initiate other options (disclaimers, press releases) if this gets national attention (currently seems limited to a smaller audience of UFO beleivers) 18
