NZDF / RNZAF via Internet Archive · 2010-12 · 445 pages · text by OCR

This is a New Zealand Defence Force public release of RNZAF file AIR 39/3/3, "Flying Saucers," which covers 1952 to 1955 and was declassified in September 2010 under the Official Information Act. It collects sighting reports from the public and military personnel, press clippings, and a table of 1952 sightings. It also holds Carter Observatory opinions attributing some reports to meteors. A large part covers the inquiry into lights seen from National Airways Corporation Flight 108 on 31 October 1955, which the RNZAF could not fully explain as Venus.

## C.S.I., U.S.A. REPRESENTATIVE.

Undoubtedly, Mr. Bender's Organisation must be the largest and most comprehensive in the field. I.F.S.B. has representatives in many countries. C.S.I.(NZ) is much indebted for information received from Mr. Bender. Photos and Tape recordings are shortly expected.

## C.S.I. FRANCE REPRESENTATIVE.

We would like you to meet Michel Sejourne of Paris.Michel may be only 14 years old but his knowledge of the mechanics of Powered Flight to come, rates him an extremely alert and intelligent young man. He is at present experimenting with a magnetically powered Turbine Engine. Michel keeps C.S.I. posted with all Flying Saucer activities over his native land.

## IN THE PUBLIC MIND.

A favourite subject of discussion today is Flying Saucers. You will hear the many arguments for and against at almost every mode of occasion, at work or play, by the fireside or social gatherings. Gradually the Saucers are gathering respect and intelligent minds are treating the tremendous possibilities with far less derision. The President is almost every day, singled out with requests for information and his views on the subject.
