This is a New Zealand Defence Force public release of RNZAF file AIR 39/3/3, "Flying Saucers," which covers 1952 to 1955 and was declassified in September 2010 under the Official Information Act. It collects sighting reports from the public and military personnel, press clippings, and a table of 1952 sightings. It also holds Carter Observatory opinions attributing some reports to meteors. A large part covers the inquiry into lights seen from National Airways Corporation Flight 108 on 31 October 1955, which the RNZAF could not fully explain as Venus.

## FLYING SAUCER INVESTIGATION REACHING FINAL STAGE... Recent developments in the investigation of Flying Saucers from all sources of information,compel us to accredit the following as to be a correct prospectus of the truth. (a) That Flying Saucers are interplanetary and are controlled by a intelligent race of Beings. (b) That the United States Authorites in particular, through their Air Forces six year full-scale intensified investigation, have the answer and greatest knowledge of the matter. (c) That the recent increasing mention and reference to Interplanetary Travel in a wide range of literature is part of an organized program to prepare the peoples of the World for such revelations as mentioned above. (d) That although a number on Planets may be involved, Mars is the most suspect. Every near approach of Mars (Opposition) has been marked with a new flurry of sightings; particularly the last four cycles. EVENTS THAT GIVE O.S.I.CAUSE TO REACH SUCH AFORE-MENTIONED CONCLUSIONS. The two creditable and best organized U.S.A. Civilian investigating groups ,namely,The International Flying Saucer Bureau and Civilian Saucer Investigation USA, have recently quite suddenly ceased activi ties and disbanded . The reason for this is the loading statement in I.F.S.B.'s Oct 15th and last issue of their official publication. THE MYSTERY OF THE FLYING SAUCERS IS SOLVED AND THE SOURCE IS KNOWN. OUR INFORMATION COMES FROM A HIGHER SOURCE , WE ARE NOT PERMITTED TO REVEAL ANY OF THE FACTS VIA OUR PUBLICATION. President Bender of I.F.S.B. informed President of C.S.I. (NZ) ,that the above was the result of a visit by three men with Credentials. The information given Mr Bender profoundly shocked him ,he further relates that all should know within a few months. American "LOOK" Magazine for October 1953, Reviews ex Major Donald Keyhoe's (U.S.M.C.) new book "FLYING SLUGCERS FROM OUTER SPACE." The Review of this book reveals for the first time some of the most baffling and unsolved sightings recently released from the American Air Force's previously Restricted Files . It appears from this Review that the American Authorites have positive evidence establishing the presence of Extra-terrestrial Space Craft.
