This Joint Chiefs of Staff message, released by the National Security Agency, forwards a September 1976 intelligence report from the US Defense Attache Office in Tehran about a UFO sighting over Tehran on 19 September 1976. It says citizens in the Shemiran area reported strange objects, and two F-4 jets were then scrambled. Both jets lost instruments or communications as they approached the object, and a second object came out of the first and headed toward one of them. The report adds that the landing area and the aircraft were being checked for radiation.
