This National Security Agency release gathers COMINT message traffic classified up to Top Secret Umbra, including a message dated August 1978, and one message cites COS Taipei. The messages list radar tracking of unidentified flying objects by time window, count, direction of movement and altitude. Most entries describe the objects as probably balloons moving slowly toward the west, at altitudes from about 6,500 to 100,000 feet. The released text has the place names redacted.
