This is Volume I of III of the Gemini VII voice communications transcript, covering pages 1 to 337 and marked Confidential. It records air-to-ground, ground-to-air and on-board exchanges beginning at lift-off. Early passages cover staging, orbit insertion and stationkeeping with the booster, which the crew reports is venting heavily, and they photograph it. Later passages near 116 hours hold the crew's detailed descriptions of airglow, stars and a sunrise seen from orbit.

The clouds are sort of a grayish color - 116:04:57 C ..., Jim. 116:04:59 P I'll take a check here as we go along if the spacecraft manages to stay just the way it is. 116:05:07 C Want to pulse it over that way a little bit? This might be worthwhile. 116:05:09 P Okay. 116:05:10 C Give you some power. 116:05:11 P Okay. It starts out as sort of a blue - a light blue - as distinguished from the grayness of the blue-mist clouds. 116:05:47 C Now you notice the stars are starting to go right through the airglow again. Can you pulse it down a little? 116:05:55 P Yes. Coming now, coming down now. 116:05:59 P Right beneath this blue there is a thin band of orangish red. 116:06:04 C Right. 116:06:06 P And between the blue and the orangish red there is a dark thin band.
