· 341 pages · text by OCR

This is Volume I of III of the Gemini VII voice communications transcript, covering pages 1 to 337 and marked Confidential. It records air-to-ground, ground-to-air and on-board exchanges beginning at lift-off. Early passages cover staging, orbit insertion and stationkeeping with the booster, which the crew reports is venting heavily, and they photograph it. Later passages near 116 hours hold the crew's detailed descriptions of airglow, stars and a sunrise seen from orbit.

70:17:53	CC	John Meekham has just bought half of Houston, seems like. He's bought five major properties of the Jones family, including the Chronicle, the Rice Hotel, and a third interest in the Texas National Bank of Commerce.
70:18:13	P	Great Scot!
70:18:19	CC	The Russian moon shot, Luna 8, did not work. Apparently they hit the moon too hard. I guess you heard about that last night, though.
70:18:28	P	Roger.
70:18:31	CC	And, mentioned in the Gemini VII story, it talks about you're the well-dressed pilot. There is also a comment, the press is calling MCC the Kraft Music Hall. We had another big power blackout last night. Electrical power was out for about 25 minutes in 10 counties in east Texas. And the final item, there are 18 shopping days to Christmas.
70:19:11	P	... about.
70:19:18	CC	That's all we have on this pass, Gemini VII.
70:19:22	P	Thank you for the news, Elliot.
BERMUDA
70:19:43	CC	Gemini VII, you might have your systems books out if you want to on the next pass, and we'll discuss your status as we see it here on the ground.
70:19:52	C	Thank you.
70:20:50	CC	Roger. Go ahead.
70:20:52	C	We would like a report on our new orbit on the outcome of that burn if you get a chance.
70:20:57	CC	Roger. We'll give it to you as soon as we have it.
70:21:00	C	Thank you.
